Laser Hair Removal
How Does It Work?
LightSheer® Hair Removal Technology
Repeated laser pulses target existing hair, creating a direction of energy into the hair follicles that prevent future growth.
The High-Speed Integrated Technology (HIT™) incorporates suction to elevate and stretch the skin. In doing so, the laser achieves maximum absorption into hair follicles and fast coverage of large areas, which minimize the sensation of heat.
The ChillTip™ technology uses a proprietary cooling system to momentarily numb the skin to minimize discomfort, while compressing the hand-piece to the skin to rotate the follicle and enable better results.
HIT™ Technology
LightSheer® is more than 75% faster than the average hair reduction session, while providing the client with optimal comfort.
The LightSheer® allows the technician to truly customize treatment for your hair type, skin type and lifestyle by utilizing 2 different hand-pieces and technologies.
No anesthetics (numbing creams) or gels are required.
How many treatments will it take?
The number of treatments varies. In most cases, 5 to 7 treatments are required.
The human hair growth cycle consists of three main phases:
- Anagen Phase – the growth stage
- Catagen Phase – the transition stage
- Telogen Phase – the resting stage
The Anagen phase is the growing, proliferative phase of the hair follicle. The majority of the hair follicles can be found in the long Anagen phase though this differs in different areas of the body.
The Catagen phase is the intermediate (transition) phase between Anagen and Telogen and last approximately 3 weeks. The cycle ends with the Telogen phase, the resting period of the hair cycle in which no growth occurs.
The Telogen phase also varies and in different body areas and can last between 3 to 6 months.
Only in Anagen phase of hair growth can Laser be effective and destroy (stop) hair growth permanently. That is why is takes more than 1 treatment.
Face area treated on a 4 week cycle
All other body areas treated on a 6 to 8 week cycle
Is the hair removal treatment permanent?
In most cases, at the end of your treatment, the unwanted hair will not grow back.
Do you give Laser Treatments to males?
YES, DEFINITELY!
Men, commonly seek to have laser hair removal on their back, chest, neck, beard shaping and ALL other areas on the body.
What is Pseudofolliculitis barbae?
(Razor Bumps) is a common condition of the beard area, occurring in African American males and those with curly hair. Caused by highly curved hairs growing back into the skin causing inflammation.
Do I need a patch test?
YES, we do a patch test on all areas to be treated, due to the varied sensitivity of the skin on different parts of the body.
The Fitzpatrick table of skin types are as follows:
- Type 1 to 1V – 15 to 30 minutes following test patch.

- Area to be treated should be freshly cleaned and left free of any make-up, perfumes, lotions, creams, antiperspirants/ deodorants. You can, of course, remove these applications in the treatment room prior to treatment.
- Avoid sun tanning and tanning creams/lotions 2 weeks prior to treatment
- Do not wax, tweeze, bleach or use depilatory (nair etc) creams for hair removal, 2 to 3 weeks prior to treatments
- Must advise us of any medication currently taking, including herbal supplements, and any medications taken in the past 6 months which increases sensitivity to light– Accutane
- Current history of cancer
Post Treatment for Laser
- Do not shower with HOT water for 24 hours after treatments
- The skin can appear spotty this is inflammation within the hair follicle and is normal, it can last 2-24 hours.
- The hair will fallout approximately 2-3 weeks following treatment
- Use of a broad spectrum Sun Screen (SPF 30) avoid sun exposure
What Should I Expect? When Will I See Results?
Multiple treatments are required to achieve permanent hair reduction. This is due to the increased effect of the laser on hair in the early growth stage (Anagen). Not all the hairs are in the same phase at a given time.
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
The appearance of the treated area following treatment varies from client to client, depending on the characteristics of the client and treatment given. During the treatment, some hairs will shed from the follicle immediately, while the remaining will shed in the following weeks. Transient redness and swelling around the hair follicle may appear immediately after the treatment, but are in fact, positive results indicating the follicle’s response to the treatment.
Following the treatment, you will be provided with guidelines, namely in terms of sun exposure.
Scalp Micropigmentation
Process
Scalp Micropigmentation or SMP is also known as a Scalp Tattoo, Medical Hairline Tattoo, Medical Hairline Restoration, and Hair pigmentation Treatment. Our unique SMP process consists of using a micro needle that is the same shape and size as a hair follicle to embed matching pigment into the scalp. The scalp contains approximately 2500 hair follicles per square inch, and so our skilled technicians will add thousands of microdots into the scalp, which gives the look of recently having a buzz cut. The results are very natural, and it’s a more affordable and safe choice over invasive methods such as hair transplantation, hair plugs, toupee or wigs. There is no scarring, and limited downtime.
Will the pigments harm me?
Our pigments are made from organic non-toxic ingredients, so they should not have any adverse effects. If you have overly sensitive skin, we recommend doing a patch test on a smaller area to start.
Will I Bleed during the procedure?
Our SMP equipment is regulated to only go into the epidermal layers of the skin. We are not going into the dermal layers as is the case with a tattoo, so there is minimal to no bleeding.
How is this different than a tattoo?
The equipment and techniques are completely different for scalp micropigmentation and tattooing. Sometimes using the analogy of a head tattoo can make the process more understandable to those who first learn about the procedure.
Is this the same as permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup artists are trained to use iron-oxide based pigments which can change color due to the body’s metabolization of iron. The techniques are also very different and you should be wary of any permanent makeup artist without specific SMP training.
Will it work for my skin tone and color?
Our Treatment is suited to all skin types and colors. Caucasian, African, Latino, Asian, and mixed races are all suitable candidates for our treatment. Our unique process matches your hair follicle color and skin tone to blend seamlessly.
How long will the results last?
The Sheer Medical Laser Advanced Method of Scalp Micropigmentation is guaranteed to last for a minimum of 10 years.
What are your prices?
The price is dependent on numerous factors. You may schedule a no-obligation consultation to obtain specific pricing.

Skin Tightening
How many treatments are required to see results?
According to your treatment program, your Laser Technician will offer a series of treatments, usually 6 treatments, one treatment per week for 6 weeks, then 2 treatments at two week intervals apart. You should start seeing improvement in your skin following the first treatment, more improvement will gradually appear as the treatment course progresses. As new, healthier collagen is formed, a more natural looking and firmer skin will be produced. Collagen will continue to reform up to 3 months after treatments are complete, giving optimal results.
How long does the effect last?
The improvement in skin quality should be long lasting, however keeping the body contours in check is also subject to a person’s calorie intake, exercise and lifestyle. So, a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle play central roles in maintaining body contours.
What is the recovery time?
Following treatment, you can immediately resume your routine activities. You may notice slight redness around the treatment area, which usually disappears in a couple of hours.

Veins / Spider Veins
Types of Veins
-
Vascular lesions
-
Angiomas
-
Hemangiomas
-
Telangiectasia (spider veins)
-
Benign vascular lesions
What are spider veins?
Spider veins (are also known as telangiectasias) are small superficial thread like veins close to the skin surface. They are more prominent on the back and sides of the thigh and just below the knee. These veins are more distinct in fair skinned people, and more common in females. The spider veins may appear spontaneously and they have no symptoms. They appear as numerous fine bluish/red circles on the legs.
What type of veins can be removed safely and effectively?
Vascular lesions, including angiomas, hemangiomas, telangiectasia (Spider veins)and other benign vascular lesions .
What Should I Expect? When Will I See Results?
In many cases, improvement is seen immediately after treatment.
Full clearance of the veins might take several weeks as they slowly fade away. In the case of multiple veins, 2-3 sessions in 3-4 weeks intervals may be needed.
Sun tanning in not recommended within 2-3 weeks prior to treatments.
(test patch will be required)
Can spider veins cause leg swelling or pain?
Spider veins are minute veins and thread like. They are only of a cosmetic nuisance. They do not cause pain, leg swelling or fatigue. In any individual who has these symptoms, the spider veins are not the cause of the problem.
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
Immediately following treatment, darkening of the vessels will be apparent, with slight redness along the vessel.
Transient erythema/ edema(swelling) may appear immediately after treatment.
You should avoid hot baths and excessive physical exercise for 1-2 weeks following your treatment. However, you should be able to continue with your normal activities immediately. For best results, clients should wear firm pantyhose support for 3 days.
What causes spider veins?
The real cause of spider veins is not known but they are more prominent in obese individuals, females, individuals who are on their feet for prolonged periods, minor trauma, pregnancy and perhaps use of contraceptives. There may be a familial component to these veins. In general, any condition that will increase pressure in the veins, can lead to spider veins.
How do lasers treat spider veins?
Laser treatment is a safe, effective option for spider veins. It does not involve any injection and takes a few minutes. Repeat sessions may be required in some cases. The laser causes the blood in the vein to disappear.
Is there any harm in removing spider veins?
Spider veins have no function and removing does no harm. The only reason they are removed is because of their unsightly appearance.
Can spider veins reoccur?
Although spider veins can develop during subsequent pregnancies, previously treated veins should not reoccur. Spider veins can be removed but new ones can always occur. Most people who have spider veins have a predisposition and despite treatment, new veins can appear in the coming years.
Fractional Skin Resurfacing
How it Works?
3DEEP® FSR – 3DEEP Fractional Skin Resurfacing provides a smoother and brighter skin surface (epidermis). Simultaneously, volumetric deep dermal heating reaches the collagen fibres causing an immediate and long term tightening effect. 3DEEP Fractional Skin Resurfacing effectively treats the epidermal and dermal skin layers for an optimal result.
How long does it take?
This treatment takes approximately 30-60 minutes. Topical anesthetics will be applied 30 minutes prior to treatment.
When will you see results?
Effects are accumulative. After the first treatment you will see improvements to broken capillaries, small facial veins and some pigmented areas within a few days. Other improvements such as wrinkle reduction and toning will be more subtle, Collagen continues to reform up to three months after treatments. Friends may suggest that you look more rested. With each subsequent treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improvement desired.
What can you expect immediately post-treatment?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness, swelling and/or a slight darkening of pigmented areas. The redness and swelling usually dissipate within one to three days however, darkened pigmentation may persist and peel lightly for up to one week. Makeup can be applied to the treated area immediately, if necessary. Additionally, hair growth may be impaired in the treated area, although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment. It is extremely important to apply a moisturizer with SPF25 sun block and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to prevent additional sun damage.
Use of Medication!!!
For treatments of Laser or RFS Skin Resurfacing treatments, a complete list of medications taken and previously taken within a 6 month period is needed during consultation.
Many medications can cause photosensitivity and need to be looked at prior to laser treatments.
